valley back to clear lake and windsor and santa rosa. the back edge has been pushing through ukiah and with it the very gusty winds preceding the gusts. we have wind gusts up to 51 miles an hour at the airport, 38 miles an hour winds from hayward. a little lighter but still at the higher elevations you are seeing 63 miles an hour wind gusts down to about 2,000 feet down in the south bay. here's the north bay. look at the heavy rain from richmond, martinez and berkeley, now pushing into the east bay. and 580 and back westward. 280 in san francisco. not only looking it he rain but gusty winds. lighter rains into fremont and union city and the south bay. this will all continue to increase throughout the day. the first half of the day looking much, much different than the second half. carolyn. >> lisa, you are the key person this morning. thank you so much. big concern in the north bay is flooding, especially along creeks and rivers. abc7 news reporter kera clapper is live in napa where they are watching that river rise inch by inch. >> yes. inch by inch, carolyn, especially as the rai

to the north bay. this is where we are seeing the coldest numbers, 35 santa rosa. 47 -- 46 in nevado. 34 degrees in napa. near freezing in some cases and in nevadonapaer part -- concord visibility down to a quarter mile. again through the delta as well. you are going to find patches of dense fog. be prepared for your visibility to drop off suddenly. this will be through the morning hours if you have the early morning drive. for the afternoon high clouds in the forecast, some sun, and again temperatures a lot like yesterday, perhaps slightly warmer some some areas, giving you a look at the forecast. through the 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 hour. the patchy dense fog will stay by the late morning, early afternoon it's burning away to be replaced by high clouds that will shift overhead. a look at the afternoon high. 62 for nevado. 61 san rafael. 60 for pacifica. in around the south bay 62 for mountain view. morgan hill. 63 loss gatos the extended forecast. a cold cold start to the morning but we will feel better by ten or so. tomorrow winds will come our way and a breeze kicking up tonight into tomorro

later, the latest on the power outages. 18,000 utility in the sonoma, particularly in santa rosa. elsewhere in the north bay, 6400 experiencing powd power outages and also 2200 people in the san francisco. 1300 are on the dark on the peninsula. with that flash flood a flash flood watch for the north bay also has cities near the russian river on alert. water levels have risen onto land in some parts of guerneville. and even though it's normally a slow-moving river... >> with 6-7 ft. it begins to get scary. we have to think about leaving town, turning off electricity, gasoline. and so forth. >> the national weather service says that it could be possibly a flooded road to a.m. with noon tomorrow reaching the highest levels. in this video shot yesterday, you can see that the river is rising fast. flooding, every decade or so, is not uncommon. the last serious threat was in the first days of january 06 of course the possibility always makes residents nervous. the national weather service says the russian river will flood guerneville around 2 a.m. monday... highest point around noon t

right now for concord, 46 for liver more. can we -- santa rosa down to 44. a lot of rainfall, officially the air report received 4.0 inches. that's a lot, and it's actually more than we typically get in an entire average december. so a month's worth of wintertime rainfall we just received in the past five days but we are crystal clear. we'd like to stay that way until more rain moves from the north and it will be far less. it's not really round four, it's just rain. >> fair field, 45, free mont 46. red wood city, 46. the warm spot will be san francisco own dropping to 56 degrees. >> storm track is still somewhat what active but unlike the past couple time it's not aimed at us. the other thing i want to point out, the stuff to the west is being kicked to the north. it's going to move to western oregon and washington. in this case it's not going to keep it entirely away from us but it will make the next weather system that moves in of -- more of a glancing below. >> tuesday night into wednesday, we're still going to get some rainfall but not the heavy stuff. most of the rain stays to the n

. santa rosa, novato, overnight lows of 33 degrees. going to be a little warmer overnight tonight. we'll look at those numbers in a moment. a nice shot from the watermark camera. looking at the bay bridge, have a safe downive your out and about. live doppler 7hd telling you, you will have some dry pavement, dry roads out there, although we have been noticing these high clouds drifting over the bay area. in fact this is what helped to cap those temperatures across most of the region in the mid-to up er 50s today. so would cooler than anticipated but we'll start to gradually warm ups and monday. santa rosa did manage 63 degrees. compared to san rafael, 55. 59 in san francisco. 65 in oakland. 57 only in antioch. 60 in livermore, and san jose, 62. currently napa, the 40s. 47 right now. san francisco, 54. 57 in oakland. and 53 in livermore. 55 right now with some high clouds passing overhead in san jose. we'll go with patchy dense fog in some of the protected valley areas overnight. get ready for warmer days the next few days and then start to cool things down, bringing in showers as we ge

inches in santa rosa. three inches in mounted st. helena. san francisco inch and a half and lesser amounts as you head towards the santa clara valley. let's take a look at the five day storm totals. three storms moved in here. you can see mount st. helena, close to 13 inches. santa rosa, close to 8 inches as well as san rafael. san francisco close to 4 inches. oakland close to 4 inches and san jose racked up close to 2 1/2 inches. as you mentioned, another system is headed for the bay area, not as strong. we'll take a look at the timing coming up. >> a scary situation in pescadero. fire crews had to rescue two drivers who's cars got caught on flooded highway 101. it caught maybe many people off guard due to the sudden rise of water. heavy rain is being blamed for an accident that injured four people. three of them are from the fire district. we do want to a warn you. some of the video may be intense for some viewers. >> you can hear the crunch of an out of control vehicle making impact followed by moments of confusion. then screams for help from firefighters kelly morse. she was on

rain up around santa rosa, perhaps as far south as san rafael. notice 5 to 7:00 a.m. we see the rain remaining in the north bay. don't expect to drop down below the golden gate. as a matter of fact it break up a little bit. 80's of rain early morning hours as we continue now to about 9:00 o'clock tomorrow morning. we see it retreat ago bit farther north back up to around santa rosa and points north of santa rosa so for virtually all the morning hours the rain will be confined to the north bay. now we take it up to 11:00 o'clock in the morning. drop south again perhaps down to napa and san rafael but again in the down below the golden gate or if i point south of that. so looks like mainly north bay event for tomorrow morning. does not look like all the bay area get rainfall however another wave coming on wednesday i'll show you what we can expect from that a little bit later. >> just what we need. spencer thanks very much. >> again spencer says more rain expected this week so be sure to stay with us for continuing storm watch coverage. we really take this very seriously and c

of time. in fact, yesterday alone, lots of places including san francisco, santa rosa, even oakland set record rainfall amounts for yesterday alone. now, more rain is already on our doorstep. we are still under flash flood watches and warnings. not only up against the coast but it does include san francisco, it includes napa and it also does include santa rosa. some of our hardest hit locations with a particular series of storms. you will notice more rain already starting to approach the coast, and this is just an appetizer of what's to come. we've looked at plenty of rain over the past four days. santa rosa, one of our top cities picked up over 5 1/2 inches of rain. san francisco, not too far behind. 2 1/2, to get down to the south bay, gilroy, 2 1/2 in san francisco topping out right at -- san jose, rather, at 1 1/2 now. we are watching more rain with this next system as you menged, diane. it's going to be very powerful. flash flood watches do mean that flash flooding is likely tomorrow. we're going to be telling you how much rain is going to fall. another thing that's very important,

as located just north of santa rosa. we have maybe a half inch of rain on the way for the bay area. i have full details on what to expect and when exactly you need your umbrella coming up in my next report. >> we are taking a look at the peninsula on the 1 01 and northbound direction where at holly street in san carlos we have received word that there is a large pot hole and the roadway that may be affecting the traffic. it was reported on the northbound side of highway 1 01. we are seen some slow traffic around 90 to enter change but that itself is not a problem. it is typical see some slowing there. there is a report that there may be a large pot hole that has ashley flatten some tires on the vehicles northbound. this could be a hot spot for the northbound commute. >> if he is muni metro, all of the trains should be running. there was a power outage that knocked out all the underground train service last night during the evening commute. it was a blown transformer near the van ness and then station. good news to hear things are up and running for this morning's commute. >> i was calling

santa rosa is a couple degrees warmer. san francisco 47. good morning redwood city, 48. 49 in mountain view and a mild, relatively speaking, 50 in san jose. that's five degrees above where you were yesterday but it's really fremont and livermore that are experiencing the much warmer conditions. not much change-up in san rafael, and subtle changes along the coast in san francisco. boy, a pretty mild to start out. just in the last hour numbers coming up along the shoreline. we will look for a little bit of fog here and there, but overall with the cloudy skies this morning that's keeping us a little warmer. then by the afternoon the winds will take over and that's going to usher in a slightly milder air mass. high pressure over the bay area continues to bring that sub continuance and that warming today and tomorrow. but by tuesday it will be coming to a screeching halt as we look for another wind shift. the temperatures will drop and then we will look for showers to head our way late tuesday into wednesday. so some of the forecasted highs today low to mid-60s, and, yeah, for early decembe

40's in the north bay valley. santa rosa and napa. we have upper 40's to lo's right around the bay. chilly overnight period. move on to the forecast feature chilly overnight with patchy valley fog cold in a few spots. sunny weekend with milder weather on sunday and cooler by midweek next week check out the low down to 35 santa rosa 36 napa 37 at fairfield not too wide spread and location is closer to the bay and coast. see low in the mid 40's overnight tonight. on we go to the satellite radar composite image that show as very large ridge of high pressure taking control of the weather picture next several days. this will give us milder weather through the weaned and into early next wee week. move along with our forecast animation 11:00 o'clock tonight. fog will chicken and spread through the central valley then spill in through the delta carquinez strait into pockets in our interior valley and east bay north bay so that's why we see some patchy fog over night. but again not wide sprae. tomorrow afternoon mainly sunny skies. a little milder. high pressure in the south bay.
